Who Can Enter?
- All ITT Dublin full-time students can enter the competition.
We are seeking from you…
- Innovation – a new idea providing either a new product or service
- Team work – The minimum requirement for valid applications is two full-time students from two different schools or departments. You can have many more in your team which may include other expertise where warranted in your proposal and final Business Plan
- If you haven’t been able to find business partners to realise your innovative idea and you would still like to be involved, earn some cash, and be part of a team, where possible we will assist in matching students across schools/departments just submit Part A of the application form (expression of interest) Remember a winning team must be formed!

All applications will be reviewed by a panel and then short-listed to the best entries (10-12 approx).
Successful short-listed applications will only then be required a produce a full Business Plan for submission to the Judging Panel.

Selection/ Judging
A judging panel will be formed with representatives from:
- ITT Dublin,
- South Dublin County Enterprise Board,
- Cruickshank Intellectual Property Attorneys
and external experts as appropriate.
Assessment Criteria
The judging and short-listing panel will be looking for the following:
Project Concept and Innovativeness
- Is the proposed product/service innovative or an import substitution?
- Is it feasible and is there a market for it?
Planning and Projections
- Has the market been thoroughly researched and potential competitors identified?
- Have capital investment and operational cash requirements been realistically identified and estimated?
Professionalism of Approach
- Have all aspects of the business been fully considered?
- Are the necessary practical skills in place to deliver the concept?
Presentation
- Is the submission presented clearly, in an understandable format?
The Final
The ITT Dublin final will take place on the Thursday 19th of April 2011. Shortlisted finalists will develop a display stand showcasing their business concept based upon the Business Plans submitted to the judges.
All finalists and stands will be on public display each presenting their business concepts to the judging panel that will then make their deliberations and award the following prizes from a €6,500 Prize Fund

- 3rd €1,000
- Special Award €500 (Awarded at the Judges discretion)
Following this competition All shortlisted entrants are encouraged to apply for the Enterprise Ireland National Competition offering additional substantial prizes of cash and business assistance.
The closing date of the Enterprise Ireland National Competition is Tuesday 24thof April 2012 with the awarding ceremony will taking place mid-June 2012.
