Wirelite Sensors was established in July 2007. It is privately owned by Michael & Majella Phelan. The company supplies wireless energy/demand management and automation systems to supermarkets, hotels, healthcare, telecommunications, utilities and other companies whose energy cost represents a significant part of their overall cost. The company targets Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK directly and other markets through OEM partners. Wirelite Sensors has set up partnership agreements with Elutions, Riga Developments, and Arch Meter. It also works with Trilliant Networks on the ESB Smart Metering project. The solutions it provides can reduce energy costs for commercial and industrial companies by up to 25%. The company plans to have a turnover of €100k in 2008 and €560k in 2009. It is managed by Michael Phelan. It is planned to recruit two engineers and one part time contractors in 2008 for energy management and building auditing, project execution and to undertake an Innovation Partnership with Tyndall Research. It is also planning to carry out product development with IT Tallaght, use the wireless equipment available in the Synergy Centre Lab and employ graduates of the college.
